Dragon’s Blood Resin is a deep-red botanical resin extracted from the Amazonian Croton lechleri tree. Inspired by traditional external use in Latin America, it is valued in skincare for its distinctive film-forming behaviour and its contribution to a calm-looking skin surface.

When applied topically, the resin dries quickly on the skin surface, forming a thin, visible film. This physical coating effect is one of the reasons it has been traditionally used in external skin care and why it is appreciated in modern cosmetic formulations.

Dragon’s Blood Resin is commonly used in cosmetic formulations designed to support the appearance of:

  • redness and visible skin stress
  • uneven-looking tone
  • uneven texture and surface irregularities
  • the look of stretch marks

It is particularly suited for targeted products where a protective, coating sensation and a more even-looking skin surface are desired.

It fits well in serums, creams, balms, and localized skincare treatments.

Extra notes

Upon exposure to air, the resin partially hardens on the skin surface, creating a visible film. This physical property contributes to the characteristic protective or coating feel associated with Dragon’s Blood Resin in cosmetic use.

Due to its natural pigmentation, the resin may temporarily stain the skin. Skin staining can usually be washed off with water. When in contact with textiles or other porous materials, it may leave permanent stains. Avoid contact with eyes. Patch testing before first use is recommended. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Natural settling may occur in this liquid resin. This is normal and not a defect. Shake well before use.
